Terms, Conditions, and Refund Policy (Courses)

These Terms, Conditions, and Refund Policies apply to all registrations and purchases made through our website and registration/checkout pages (including Jotform and payment processors used at checkout).
By registering for or purchasing any course, workshop, session, subscription trial, recordings access, templates, books, e-books, or e-Lab materials, you agree to the terms below.

1) Course formats covered by this policy
Our offerings may include:
• QuickBooks Workshops / Bootcamps
• Self-Paced Starter
• Self-Paced On-Line Classroom
• Books That Make Sense – Clarity Session
• Course Materials (Digital book / Print + Digital book; e-Lab; etc.)

2) Registration, attendance, and learner requirements
1. Class size limits: Live classes may be capped (for example, 15 students).
2. Technology: You are responsible for having a computer/laptop, reliable internet, and the ability to use Zoom and course tools.
3. Excel requirement: Excel may be required for specific courses. It is the student’s responsibility to have access to an Excel subscription. For the “Self-Paced” program courses, assignments must be uploaded using .xlsx Excel format.
4. Conduct: We expect respectful participation. We may remove participants for disruptive, abusive, harassing, or inappropriate behaviour. If removal is required for conduct reasons, refunds are not provided.

3) What’s included and access periods (important)
Because access periods differ by course type:
A) Weekend Workshops / Bootcamps
• Live training occurs over Zoom.
• Recordings access (where included) is typically time-limited (example: 30 days).
• Includes 1-year subscription to QuickBooks Online Plus
• Some ticket types may include extra Q&A time and/or email support (as described at purchase).
B) Self-Paced Starter
• This is an independent study program without live classroom sessions.
• Includes 1-year subscription to QuickBooks Online Plus.
• Includes orientation videos, including: an introductory video for each chapter (common sticking points and what to watch for) and an “Introduction to Microsoft Excel for Beginners” video (as described at purchase).
• Support (if included) is limited to asynchronous email/support tickets as described at purchase.
C) Self-Paced On-Line Classroom
• 12 weekly live Zoom classes - total of 36 hours (3 hours/class).
• Includes everything in Self-Paced Starter, plus live classes and additional group support as described at purchase.
• Bonus: Includes the book “Bookkeeping & Beyond” by Jacqueline Bernal (where included, as described at purchase).
• Class recordings may be available for up to 1 year (as described at purchase).
• Includes 1-year subscription to QuickBooks Online Plus
D) Course Materials (books/e-Lab)
• Course materials are purchased separately for Self-Paced programs and are non-refundable (see Refunds section). These include (without limitation) digital downloads/e-books, printed books once ordered/fulfilled, and e-Lab access.

4) QuickBooks Online (QBO) Plus subscription (included with courses)
Many of our courses include a 1-year subscription to QuickBooks Online Plus.
Important notes:
• This QBO subscription may be delivered shortly before the start date, or at your first training session. In order to complete the initial set-up of your QBO subscription for the purpose of the course(s) you are taking, you MUST follow all pre-course instructions. Failure to do so may require additional time to correct initial set-up errors, and class sessions might, or might not, be used for this purpose.
• If you already have a QuickBooks Online account/subscription, you will need a different email/login to use the QBO subscription included with the course(s).
• QuickBooks is a third-party product (Intuit). We teach how to use it, but we do not control Intuit’s systems, pricing, policies, or availability.

5) Pricing, taxes, and payment plans
• Prices are listed at checkout (CAD). GST/HST is applied based on the province selected, where applicable.
• If a payment plan is offered for a course, the plan terms shown at checkout (dates/amounts) form part of this agreement. Missed/failed payments may result in suspended access until the account is brought current.

6) Intellectual property (copyright) and permitted use
All training materials and content are owned by JB Training Services Inc. or used under permission, including workbooks, templates, slides, videos, recordings, downloads, e-books, printed materials, e-Lab content, and written summaries.
You may:
• use course materials for your own learning and for your own business/internal purposes.
You may not:
• copy, share, sell, distribute, upload, publish, or provide course materials/recordings to others,
• screen-record or re-broadcast live sessions,
• reuse our templates/materials as your own training product.

7) Recordings and privacy in live sessions
Live sessions may be recorded by us so registered students can review content (where included in the course). Access durations vary by course. Students are not permitted to record (audio, video, screen, or chat) or to screenshot/redistribute any portion of a live or recorded session. Recordings created by JB Training Services Inc. may be hosted on Vimeo (or a similar platform) so we can restrict access to registered students only.
By enrolling, you consent to being part of a recorded session, including (without limitation) audio/video/screen share/chat. Do not share sensitive personal or confidential information during live sessions unless you are comfortable with it being recorded. If you have privacy concerns, contact us before the course begins.
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy/Cookies practices, Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and, where applicable, PIPEDA.

8) Refund Policy (by product type)
All deadlines and cut-off times in this Refund Policy are in Mountain Standard Time (MST), unless stated otherwise.
For scheduled group programs (such as Self-Paced On-Line Classroom), “Course Start Date” means the Start Date shown at checkout and in your confirmation email for your enrolled class group.
A) Course materials (books, e-books, printed books, e-Lab)
Course materials are non-refundable, including (without limitation) digital downloads/e-books, printed books once ordered/fulfilled, and e-Lab access.

B) Weekend Workshops / Bootcamps
1. Cancel before the event:
Refunds are available up to 3 days before the event.
2. “Noon Day 1” money-back guarantee:
If you attend and decide the bootcamp isn’t for you, you may request a full refund by noon (MST) on Day 1. If refunded under this guarantee, you will lose access to package items (examples: QBO access, recordings, handouts, etc.).
3. After the deadline:
Refund requests after the above deadlines are not available.

C) Self-Paced On-Line Classroom
1. Full refund: Cancel 3 days before your course start date, AND before you activate the included QuickBooks Online Plus subscription (activation means you have clicked the link and accepted the QBO invite sent by email), AND before using support tickets → full refund of the course cost (excluding course materials, these are still non-refundable).
2. 50% refund: Cancel after activating the included QuickBooks Online Plus subscription, and at least 24 hours before the third in-class session → 50% refund of the course fee (excluding course materials, these are still non-refundable).
No refunds are available after the above points.

D) Self-Paced Starter
Upgrade credit:
If you upgrade to the Self-Paced On-Line Classroom within the timeframe stated on your course page (example: within 14 days), we will apply the Starter fee as a credit toward the Classroom program.
Refunds:
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, Self-Paced Starter is generally treated as a digital/independent study offering. There are no refund options for this product once the links to course materials and the QuickBooks Online Plus subscription are emailed to you.

E) Books That Make Sense – Clarity Session
Because this is a scheduled service:
• You may reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice via email to jackie.bernal@jbtrainingservices.com
• Only one reschedule is permitted, unless we agree otherwise.
• Missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable.

F) How to request a refund
To request a refund, email jackie.bernal@jbtrainingservices.com with:
• the purchaser name and email used at checkout,
• the course name/date,
• the reason for the request.
Refunds are issued back to the original payment method where possible, or by e-transfer/cheque. Refunds are processed within 3 business days. Posting times depend on your bank/payment processor.

G) Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you initiate a chargeback/dispute without first contacting us to resolve the issue, we reserve the right to suspend course, and course material access, while the dispute is investigated.

9) Changes, cancellations, and force majeure
We may occasionally need to change instructors, lesson timing, or reschedule a session due to illness, platform outages, weather emergencies, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
If we cancel a live class/workshop entirely, you will be offered either:
• a full refund of the course fee paid (excluding non-refundable materials already delivered), or
• a transfer to a future date (your choice).

10) Educational disclaimer and limitation of liability
Our training is educational and informational. We do not provide legal advice, and we do not guarantee specific financial, tax, or business outcomes. You are responsible for how you apply what you learn in your business and for obtaining professional advice where needed.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JB Training Services Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your participation or purchase.

11) Governing law and general terms
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada (and applicable Canadian federal laws).
Severability: If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Changes to these terms: We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase, unless we are required by law to apply changes sooner.
